The Waxahachie Independent School District is putting the spotlight on all 14 of its principals throughout October for National Principals Month.
The district praised the school heads for their leadership and dedication with a group photo on Oct. 4.
“Waxahachie ISD is blessed to have principals that lead with passion, vision, and compassion,” the district said. “They motivate, support, challenge, engage and impact lives every day as they work to advance the success of our students, educators, and schools.”
Studies supported by The Wallace Foundation — a national philanthropy group that works to foster improvements in learning and enrichment for disadvantaged children — found that the role of principals in shaping the success of students and teachers alike cannot be underestimated.
“High-quality principals are vital to the effectiveness of our nation’s public schools, especially those serving the children with the fewest advantages in life,” the foundation noted. “Moreover, principals strongly shape the conditions for high-quality teaching and are the prime factor in determining whether teachers stay in high-needs schools.”
Waxahachie ISD encourages staff, students and parents to “#ThankAPrincipal for the essential role they play in the lives of so many.”
