Michael Dale Panther, Sr., “Big Mike” was called to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 30, 2019. Mike was an avid outdoor sportsman who loved hunting, fishing, music and storytelling.

Mike was born in Hereford, TX, March 6, 1960, to Kenneth Dean and Dora Belle Panther. He was proceeded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

During his working years, he was an excellent carpenter and cabinet maker and later a master plumber. Mike was a strong man and fierce guardian. He was fearless and wouldn’t backdown from a bulldozer, yet would hold his grandbabies with gentle love and tears glistening in his eyes. If Mike was your friend, he was also your protector.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Vickie, of 41 years; two sons: Michael Dale, Jr., and wife Nikki; and William Wayne and wife Meagan; and seven grandchildren: Kenzie, Colton, Hayden, Maddie, Ashlyn, Ethan, and baby girl on the way Aspen.

Sister Linda Riley; sister Cathy Layman and husband Wesley; brother Billy Panther; brother Kenny Panther and wife Wendy; sister Roberta Kavalek and husband Scott; brother-in-law David Spurlock and wife Suzanne; sister-in-law Sharon Palmer and husband Randy, brother-in-law Phillip Spurlock, along with dozens and dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins and adopted Italy Gladiators.

Visitation will be at Midlothian Funeral Home Wednesday, July 3, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 6, at 10:00 a.m. at the Stoker Family Cemetery, approximately 15 miles north of Breckenridge, TX, in Stephens County. Mike will be laid to rest by his father, mother, and brother.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in memory of Michael Panther, Sr.
