Glendon Eugene “Red” Haney of Red Oak, TX was born July 3, 1931 in Files Valley, TX to Elijah H. and Bessie Bell (Holcomb) Haney. He passed from this life on June 23, 2019.

Preceded in death by parents; brothers Arvil Haney, Harold Glen Haney; sister Billy Joyce Finley; in-laws Paul & Grace Jonte.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend of the citizens of Red Oak, Red served as an Insurance Agent, Justice of the Peace, and Municipal Judge in Ellis County. He was a cattle farmer, Veteran of the Korean War, ROHS football announcer, member of the Lions Club, basketball referee, and helped to form the Red Oak Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Wynona (Jonte) Haney; son Glendon E. “Buddy” Haney, Jr.; daughter Sha Butler & husband, Phillip; grandchildren Jeremy Haney, Schad Haney & wife Amanda, Cole Butler & wife Sarah, Karlee Butler Kennedy & husband Joe; great-grandchildren Nicholas Haney, LeAnn Haney, Grace Butler, Hudson Butler, Nolan Butler, Beckett Butler, Knox Butler, Emmett Kennedy.

Visitation from 4:00 - 6:00 PM Sunday (June 30, 2019) at Byrum Funeral Home. Celebration of Life 2:00 PM Monday (July 1, 2019) in Byrum Funeral Chapel. Interment in Red Oak Cemetery.
