Gateway Mortgage Group, a full-service mortgage company licensed in 40 states and the District of Columbia, recently announced that Jeffery Schmidt has been included in Mortgage Executive Magazine’s “Top 1% Mortgage Originators in America 2018.”
The originators were recognized for delivering outstanding results in a challenging mortgage market.
Each year, Mortgage Executive Magazine seeks to recognize and celebrate the service, dedication, and hard work that leading mortgage professionals put into serving their clients during the home loan process.
The list is compiled of individuals who met a minimum of $30 million in total personal production in 2018. Those who enter cannot include loan volume of associate or junior originators who earn commission on the same loan files.
Schmidt was included on this year’s list, accompanied by 16 other Gateway team members who were also recognized by Mortgage Executive Magazine.
These leading professionals have been honored for their dedication to serving clients throughout the home loan process. Last year, Gateway funded more than 29,000 loans in 2018 for a total of $6.1 billion in mortgage loans, a ten percent increase from $5.5 billion in the previous year.

According to the announcement, Gateway Mortgage Group has been recognized more than 25 times as an industry leader, including receiving the prestigious Hall of Fame accolade in 2018 from Inc. Magazine as one of the country’s fastest-growing privately held companies for the eighth time.
Additionally, Gateway was named one of the “Top Workplaces” by National Mortgage Professional Magazine and was included in the list of “Top Mortgage Lenders” by Scotsman Guide. The company has also been recognized for its industry-leading customer service by Benchmark Portal’s designation as a Contact Center of Excellence.
