The body of a 22-year-old man was recovered on the banks of a small pond outside of Hunter’s Cove Apartments late Thursday afternoon in Waxahachie.

A landscaper discovered the body of the deceased male, identified by investigators Friday morning as Dru Cisneros, of Waxahachie, and reported it to the Waxahachie Police Department at around 3:30 p.m.

According to a Waxahachie Police media release, Cisneros was last seen by neighbors on Saturday, April 20.

Ellis County Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace Dan Cox responded to the scene and pronounced Cisneros dead. Cox then ordered the body to be transported to the Dallas Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

The cause and manner of death are undetermined and pending the autopsy report, according to the latest WPD release.

“We’ve got detectives and crime personnel on-scene, as well as patrol officers,” Waxahachie Police Lt. Marcus Brown told the Daily Light during the initial investigation. “They are working the investigation.”

The small kidney-bean-shaped body of water is located on private property just outside the east entrance of Hunter’s Cove Apartments along Chenault Drive and behind Discount Tire.

The investigation led by Waxahachie Police is currently ongoing.
