David Michael Drain was born on September 19, 1946 in Corsicana, Texas. Mike passed away on April 13, 2019 in Eureka, Texas at the age of 72 years. He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Donna Drain and two sons, Zach Drain and wife, Courtney, of Corsicana and Zip Drain and wife, Sarah, of Houston. And he was also survived by six grandchildren, Ethan, Deylon and Cohen Drain of Corsicana and Lake, Layton and Livi Drain of Houston. Mike is also survived by nephews Eric and Jason Drain and families of Navarro County. Preceding him in death were his parents, R. M. and Margie Drain and brother, Robert Drain. Mike grew up on a farm near Emhouse, Texas and graduated from Blooming Grove High School in 1964. He played multiple sports in high school and went on the play basketball at Navarro College. After college, he worked thirty-five years in telephone communications and retired in 2003. Mike and Donna married in 1975 and resided in Waxahachie for thirty years where they raised their sons. Mike was an avid golfer. Mike enjoyed many years of playing golf and going on ski trips with friends and family. Mike’s favorite memories were of his sons’ accomplishments during their school years and especially those involving their years of playing baseball at Waxahachie High School. In 2005, Mike and Donna moved back to Navarro County and renewed many old friendships. Mike was most proud of his two sons and their development into honorable young men. Mike was a member of the Westhill Church of Christ in Corsicana, Texas. Family visitation will 5:00pm -6:30pm Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Memorial service will 6:30pm Tuesday at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel.
