Midlothian Heritage soccer is no stranger to success on the pitch. The program is also quite familiar with the regional tournament.

And, for the second consecutive season, both varsity team will once again square off with the best 4A Region II has to offer this weekend.

The (22-6-1) Heritage boys defeated North Dallas in overtime Friday evening, 2-1, at DeSoto ISD Stadium.

The Jaguars will now face (19-3-1) Community at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the 4A Region II semifinals at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler. The winner faces the winner of Dallas Hillcrest and Kilgore at 11 a.m. Saturday in the regional final.

As for the (23-2-3) Heritage girls, they ran away with a 9-nil win Friday night against Dallas Hillcrest at DeSoto ISD Stadium.

Aaliyah Bivins netted a hat trick and added an assist for the Jaguars in the win, while Brynn Pollock scored two goals and assisted on four more.

Amiya Guynes, Emilee Page and Sydney (2) also scored during the win. Grace Hackney and Rachel Allen added the other two assists.

The defending 4A state champions will face (17-2) Spring Hill at 4 p.m. Friday in the 4A Region II semifinals at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler. The winner will play either Melissa or Paris in the regional final at 6:30 p.m. Saturday for a chance to advance to the state tournament in Georgetown.
