Ovilla Christian School third baseman Hunter Roe signed a national letter of intent this week to continue his baseball career with Ranger College.

Roe currently carries a .421-batting average and .632-slugging percentage over 19 at-bats and eight games this season.

The senior has one double and one home run on the young season, while also having already driven home nine runs and scored 17 times. Roe has drawn seven free passes to just five strikeouts.


Roe and the Eagles ended the week with a 17-11 loss at the hands of Longview Heritage in the finale of a two-game series. The two teams combined for 21 hits and 10 errors.

Ovilla Christian had recorded three consecutive wins before the Friday slugfest.

The Eagles swept Greenville Christian last week, 14-3 and 18-0. They then began the week with a 5-4 win against Longview Heritage.


Ovilla Christian returns to action Tuesday at home against Longview Christian at 4:30 p.m. They then conclude the two-game series on the road on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
