The Rotary Club of Waxahachie held its second annual sporting clay event on Friday and thousands of orange disks paid the ultimate price.
The sacrifice was all for a good cause, though. The Rotary Club, whose motto is “Service Above Self,” held the exposition as a fundraiser to support scholarships for Ellis County students.
The planning committee for the event included Rotarians Mike Lee, Jerry Chapman, Tom Ker and Melissa Ballard, as well as quite a few others who deserve credit for their hard work to make the shoot a success.
“Clays are not very hard to hit, but they are really easy to miss,” Lee said.
The Rotary Club of Waxahachie meets every Thursday at 11:45 a.m. at the Waxahachie Civic Center. For more information on the next event or the club, visit waxahachierotary.org.
