WAXAHACHIE

John Houston Custom Homes opened its newest model home to the public Wednesday at The Estates at North Grove.

The lot sizes for these homes range from 1,753 to 3,336 square feet, according to a plan sheet, with prices for the homes ranging from $236,990 to $352,990. Sales manager Tony Cummings explained that the 2,890-square-foot model home that opened to the public Wednesday is called the “Jackson.”

“I call it ‘Mrs. Jackson,’” Cummings chuckled. “I give her much respect.”

John Houston Custom Homes opened the model home alongside the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce during its ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday afternoon. Cummings remarked that this was the seventh John Houston property to open in Waxahachie, and the chamber has been very supportive in their continuous efforts to connect with the community.

“The more we do it, the more we love to do it,” Chamber president Sandy King stated. “It always seems like their houses get bigger, better and more attractive.”

Online sales manager Whitney Pryor stated that The Estates at North Grove is part of a comprehensive master-planned community that will be built out in the next few years. Pryor stated that John Houston Custom Homes have built out a similar master plan community in the past at Mansfield, but this development will be the first of its kind in Waxahachie.

“It’s going to include pools, splash pad, there’s going to be an on-site elementary school,” she expressed. “It’s a great community for those that have a family and are wanting to get out and be more social with the community – be more involved.”

The interior design of the North Grove Elementary school was presented to the Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees during its meeting in March. With the added connectivity between Highway 77 and Brown Street, Cummings remarked that it’s a fantastic development to be interconnected between several different neighborhoods.

“It’s going to be a fabulous community,” Cummings remarked. “Within a mile-and-a-half to two-mile radius is six communities right now.”

As the new home adviser, Pryor stated she serves as the main point of contact between John Houston Custom Homes and potential buyers. She said she appreciates the ability to ease people into the home-purchasing experience, adding that it could be a confusing process for those who have not gone through it before.

“We get a lot of people that are new to the process of home building,” Pryor commented. “They’re a little scared – they don’t know the process of buying a new home. My job is to counsel them through it – let them know what the process is, ease their concerns.”

Cummings stated that he appreciates the integrity of the John Houston Custom Homes family, adding that the company culture is one of compassion and excellence.

“We’re here simply as stewards,” Cummings expressed. “We love to serve people. We’re here to serve our community.”

“It’s about a lot more than the brick and mortar,” King added.

Cummings commented that he expects The Estates to be sold out completely in the next three to four months. To learn more about the Estates at North Grove, go online at www.jhoustonhomes.com.
