Ryan Hay has wasted no time in making up for a lost year on the high school soccer pitch.
The Waxahachie senior netted his second hat trick of the season Tuesday night at home against Corsicana to lift the Indians to 5-nil victory against Corsicana.
Hay recorded his first three-goal performance Jan. 4 against Corpus Christi Moody during the Alamo Heights Invitational. He now has a team-leading nine goals through eight matches this season for the 6-1-1 Indians.
In addition to Hay's three goals Tuesday, juniors Ruben Fuentes and Crisanto Perez also found the back of the net on assists provided by Christopher Gonzales, John Paul Lopez, Jordan Beechum and Austin Andrus.
Joshua Redding recorded his fourth consecutive shutout in goal in the victory.
Waxahachie has outscored the opposition 26-6 on the season, with the Indians lone loss coming Jan. 5 against Alamo Heights (3-0).
The Indians return to action at 7:30 p.m. Friday at home against WT White on the campus of Waxahachie High School.
The match will be the final non-District 7-6A tuneup for the Indians, as they face DeSoto at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 for Senior Night at Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium.
