Rhonda Rachelle Johnson, age 59, passed away peacefully at home Monday evening, Jan. 14, 2019.
Born as a preemie on Oct. 10, 1959 in Hope, Arkansas, she entered this world fighting and never gave up.
Rhonda was a loving nurturer, and was especially dedicated to her children, daughter, Kristina Louise Woosley, and son, Jeremy Ray Appleton and their families. Rhonda loved spending time with her grandchildren, pets, family and friends, and enjoyed planting and gardening. Rhonda retired in Mar. 2017 after devoting 28 years with the USPS. Rhonda always had a quick smile and was always in service to others while acting as a Coach, Trainer, Teacher, Postal Carrier and Nana, in which title she loved most. She was known as a mom to many. Her love and generosity will be deeply missed by all she touched during her life.
After two courageous cancer fights, Rhonda proudly willed her body to UT Southwestern Medical School for research. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 200 S Locust St, in Venus, Texas, on Friday, Jan. 18, at 6:30 p.m.
The family would like to extend a special note of thanks to all who walked beside her throughout life.
