The Maypearl Lady Panthers won their third consecutive district contest in dominant fashion Tuesday night at home against Rio Vista.

Maypearl did not allow Keene to score more than seven points in any of the four quarters of the 38-17 victory.

Lillie Beason scored 12 points to the lead the way for the Lady Panthers. She also had four rebounds and a team-high three assists.

Madison Goetz scored eight points and was one of five Lady Panthers with three steals on the evening.

Lex Berryman added five points, Faith Adams scored four, Riley Malone and Sol Cabuto both chipped in three points, Maliah Sommers scored two and Morgan McAlister finished with one.

Cabuto accounted for a team-high 10 rebounds.

The Lady Panthers are now 21-8 on the season and are tied with (21-6) Keene atop the District 17-3A standings. The two are one game clear of (20-6, 6-2) Whitney and two games ahead of (16-13, 5-3) Grandview.


Maypearl returns to the court at 6:15 p.m. Friday on the road against Whitney.

The Lady Panthers previously defeated the Lady Wildcats, 53-47, on Dec. 14.
