Red Oak built a double-digit lead behind 20-plus point performances by Marcus Sasser and Joshua Miller for an easy District 14-5A home win Friday night against Waco University.

The Hawks improved to 4-0 in the district standings and 20-5 overall with the victory, 75-53.

Sasser scored 12 of his game-high 25 points in the first quarter, which included the University of Houston-signee knocking down three early shots from three-point land.

Miller also drained three three-pointers — two during the Hawks 22-point first quarter and a third in the third quarter — on his way to 20 points.

Red Oak put the game away by outscoring Waco University 28-16 in the fourth quarter behind eight of Tolomon Lewis' 10 points and five more from Sasser and LaTron Turner.

Turner finished the game with seven points, while Joshua Sasser had eight and Austin Foster and Colbie Holiman both added two points.

Waco University was led by Wilson Boggess' 21 points and 14 more by Kenya Mathis.
