Red Oak Hawk Theatre will debut the thought-provoking comedy “9 to 5” with featured music and lyrics by Dolly Parton this weekend.

“9 to 5” is the story of friendship in the Rolodex era. It follows the tale of three co-workers Violet, Judy and Doralee and their dissatisfaction with workplace conditions. Pushed to the boiling point by their obnoxious boss Franklin Hart Jr., the trio take matters into their own hands. In a hilarious turn of events, the women work together to give their workplace a much-needed makeover.

Emma Pitts will take on the role of Doralee Rhodes who was played by Dolly Parton. Donae Swanson will act as Violet Newstead and Abigail Vinson as Judy Bernly who was originally played by Jane Fonda. The show will also star Zion Blair as Hart, Jayden Douglas as Roz and Drew Davis as Joe.

This rendition of "9-5" will be based on the 1980 movie of the same name and features music and lyrics by Dolly Parton.

Red Oak Hawk Theatre department is excited to bring to life this show on the Performing Arts Center Stage, directed by Red Oak High School directors Katrina Keener and Joseph Thomas.
