Unsafe travel conditions, not to mention even worse weather to compete in, forced a rescheduling of 16th annual Highway 287 girls' soccer tournament in Waxahachie.

Lady Indians head soccer coach Jason Venable made the decision Wednesday afternoon to condense the three-day tournament to a two-day format, ultimately canceling all of the Thursday contests.

The varsity Lady Indians will now face Trimble Tech at 10:30 a.m. Friday and then Waco at 6 p.m. They'll return to action Saturday to face Corsicana at noon and WT White at 6 p.m.

As for the junior varsity Lady Indians, they will begin the tournament at 9 a.m. Friday against Terrell and then return to the pitch at 3 p.m. later that day to face Dallas Skyline. The junior varsity wraps up tournament play Saturday against Corsicana at 10:30 a.m.

All games will be played at Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium in Waxahachie.

The junior varsity games will consist of two 30-minute halves with five-minute halftime, while the varsity will play two 35-minute halves with a five-minute halftime.
