The Maypearl Lady Panthers won each of their four games in the Hubbard ISD Christmas Classic by 26 or more points en route to a tournament championship trophy presentation Saturday.

In the championship game against Palmer, Maypearl built a 25-6 lead by halftime and then added 24 points in the third quarter for an easy victory, 57-16.

The Lady Panthers were fresh off of a second-place finish in the Venus ISD tournament the previous weekend. They are now 14-6 on the season.

Lillie Beason and Morgan McAllister each scored 12 points in the championship game Saturday afternoon to help clinch the title. Beason also added nine rebounds and McAllister had four steals.

Faith Adams scored nine points, while Lex Berryman added eight points to her team-high 11 rebounds. Sol Cabuto finished with six points, Rileyanne Malone five, Hadlee Gibson three and Madison Goetz two.

It should also be noted that of the names mentioned above, Malone is the lone senior, meaning the tournament championship will surely not be the last for Maypearl over the next few seasons.

The Lady Panthers defeated Wortham (65-26), Coolidge (46-20), Hubbard (53-9) and Palmer to claim the title.
