Plans for a new high-end office park just south of the US Highway 287 business district are set to go before the Waxahachie Planning and Zoning Commission at the Nov. 27 meeting.
The Crossroads Business Park will consist of four buildings located on the corner of Solon Road and John Arden Drive.
Developer Chris Acker stated the project would be built throughout the year and multiple phases. He hopes to begin construction in January.
“When we get 50 percent complete with one building we will move onto the next one. So there is always a rolling process of work being done there. Each building will take about three months to complete,” Acker said. “The buildings are going to be composed of brick and stone and will be one story tall.”
Acker stated that two-thirds of the development has already been leased out with one space remaining. Buildings in the development will range from 5,000 – 8,000 square feet. At the corner of the business park, will be a stand-alone grocery store. It is estimated that the project will create around 40 jobs.
Acker stated that, if he receives approval from the commission, the next step in the project is to apply for building permits.
The planning and zoning commission will meet at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall. City Hall is located at 401 S. Rogers Street in downtown Waxahachie.
