Aurora “Bolé” Garza Hernandez, 84, of Avalon, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at her home. She was born August 12, 1934, in Mathis, Texas to George Garza and Maria Carabajal. Bolé was a longtime member of the Epiphany Catholic Church in Italy and she also sang in the choir. She loved to cook homemade tortillas and was known for making her tamales. Bolé was a straightforward person and was always truthful to you.

Survivors include her son, Manuel Hernandez and daughter, Norma Gaytan Hernandez both of Avalon; grandchildren, Amanda Nicole Hernandez and Darryle Wynn, Manuel Hernandez, Jr, and wife Jennifer, Joey Hernandez and wife Mandi, Christian Hernandez, Moses Michael Hernandez and wife Mallorie and Emma Gaytan; great-grandchildren, Serenity, Brandon, Jr., Wyatt, Caden, Kinley, Kayla, Cameron, Chloe, Christian Jr. and wife Sarah, Sky, Josiah, Everleigh and Meya; one great-great-granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Hernandez. Bolé was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Aurora Gaytan.

Visitation for family and friends will be 3 PM to 5 PM with a Rosary at 4 PM on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Monday, November 19, 2018, at the Epiphany Catholic Church with Father Antonio Ormaza, celebrant. Interment will follow at the Italy Cemetery

Lunch will be provided after the graveside at The Hall.
