In a rematch of a district contest, the Red Oak Lady Hawks swept Corsicana on Tuesday in the 5A Region 2 quarterfinals.

The victory, 25-11-25-14, 25-10, improved the Lady Hawks to 26-16 on the season and advanced head coach Hope Porter and company to their second consecutive regional tournament.

It also continued the Lady Hawks perfect start to the postseason, as Red Oak has now swept all three playoff matches against Lancaster, Lindale and Corsicana.

Hailey Hunt and Katelyn Malone led the Lady Hawks attack with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Red Oak committeed just 10 hitting errors on the evening and posted a .219-hitting percentage as a team.

Zanobia Willis (12) and Kendra Mcruffin led the way for the Lady Hawks in the block department, while Hunt (21), Ellie Davis (16) and Carley Rushing all posted double-digit digs.

Rushing and Emily Smith recorded 16 and 12 assists.

Red Oak now faces Lucas Lovejoy at 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Berkner High School in the 5A Region 2 semifinal. The winner advances to play either Texarkana Texas High or Frisco Wakeland in the regional final at 2 p.m. Saturday at Richardson Berkner High School.
