The University of Indianapolis Greyhounds visited Bolivar on Saturday afternoon for a Great Lakes Valley Conference football matchup with former Indian quarterback Bryse Salik and Southwest Baptist University.
Indianapolis soundly defeated Southwest Baptist, 48-14, dropping the Bearcats to 0-8 (0-6 GLVC) on the season.
Salik finished 15-of-32 through the air for 139 yards and one touchdown. His touchdown pass was to Jarrett Massie from 10 yards out to start the second half and cut the Indianapolis lead to 34-7.
The 2018 Waxahachie graduate also rushed five times for 19 yards, which included a long of 28 yards on a third-down-and-8 situation midway through the second quarter.
Salik has now thrown for 1,093 yards and seven touchdowns on 118-of-226 passing. He has a touchdown pass in all but two of the Bearcats eight games this season.
On Saturday, Matt Lechuga was on the receiving end of a team-high five Salik pass completions for 61 yards, while Eric Knight ran for 139 yards and one touchdown on 28 carries.
Josh Palacios, Connor Hicks and Blake Harris each recorded eight tackles in the effort.
The Bearcats wrap up their home schedule at 1 p.m. Saturday against Central Washington.
