The Dallas Museum of Art has presented the Go Van Gogh series in Waxahachie ISD schools for more than 40 years. That tradition continues to educate students in first through fifth grade throughout the fall semester.

Through the work of local trained, dedicated and talented volunteers, children are informed on the history of a variety of arts and artists. After the presentation, the students then create their own works of art that relate to the era. This activity allows individual creative expression.

Volunteers lead experiences that encourage students to look closely at works of art, ask and answer questions and make connections to art.

All works of art presented can be found in the Dallas Museum of Art.

Go Van Gogh is a fine arts program presented through a partnership with the Dallas Museum of Art and Waxahachie ISD.

“We are very proud of this program in WISD as Go Van Gogh adds another layer of art for our elementary students with these fine arts presentations," said Melissa Cobb, director of Partners in Education. "Through the dedication of our volunteers, we are able to bring the Dallas Museum of Art home to our students. We are grateful for the continued volunteer partnership of Waxahachie Jr. Service League, our community volunteers and our parent volunteers.”
