Red Oak scored twice in each quarter Friday night for a huge homecoming win against Dallas Adamson at Billy Goodloe Stadium.
The Hawks offense amassed 596 yards of total offense, while the defense limited the Cougars to just 92 total yards in the 51-0 victory.
Red Oak is now 6-1 on the season and 3-1 in District 6-5A.
Thanks to a 91-yard touchdown run, Red Oak's Tristan Lee led all ballcarriers with 174 rushing yards on eight carries. He also had one catch for 58 yards.
CJ Palmer carried the football eight times for 56 yards and two scores, while Zack Sanders added the fourth rushing touchdown on one of his three carries for 26 yards.
Zayid Aziz, the Hawks starting quarterback, finished 7-of-10 through the air for 129 yards with touchdown passes to Tallon Heine (26 yards) and Lee (58). Quarterback Josh Ervin came on in relief and completed 6-of-his-8 passes for 127 yards and one 23-yard, third-quarter touchdown to Lakelsey Johnson.
Marcus Badgett led all Hawk receivers with 74 yards on three catches, while Johnson tallied 71 yards on four grabs.
Angel Medel added a 22-yard field goal for the Hawks in the second quarter.
Red Oak has outscored opponents 251-71 through seven games this season, which includes shutouts against Dallas Jefferson (66-0) and Adamson.
The Hawks last won six or more football games in 2012 under then-head coach Mike Shields. That Red Oak team finished the regular season 7-3 and then defeated Corsicana and Sherman in the 4A playoffs before falling to Frisco Centennial in the regional quarterfinals.
In fact, the Hawks have won six times or more just four other times since 2004 (2012, 10, 09, 07).
Red Oak returns to action on the road at 7:30 p.m. Friday against (1-6, 1-3) Dallas Conrad.
The Chargers have been outscored 279-63 this season.
The Hawks and Chargers have only played two common opponents thus far, with Conrad falling to South Oak Cliff (59-0) and defeating Jefferson (27-11). Red Oak also lost against South Oak Cliff (31-21) and defeated Jefferson (66-0).
