James Robert McAdams, 79, of Waxahachie, passed away October 5, 2018 at his home. He was born February 14, 1939 in Dallas to James E. and Vivian (Hyland) McAdams.

In January 1953 the family moved to Waxahachie, where his father managed the Coca-Cola Plant and his mother became the school nurse. He graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1957. Following high school, he attended Texas Tech for a year and returned to Waxahachie where he worked at various jobs. He joined the U. S. Army and became a member of the 82nd Airborne. James proudly served and was honorably discharged in December of 1968. He spent most of his post Army years in sales and several years working at American Bond in Waxahachie from which he retired.

James was a devout Episcopalian and member of St. Paul Episcopal Church. He loved his church family and donated his time in anyway he could and helped wherever the need.

Survivors include son, James Robert McAdams, Jr.; 1 grandson; sister, Linda Hall of Chandler, AZ; two nieces, Lisa Biehn and husband Frank and Jennifer Mallicote and fiancé Mark Powell; great niece Ashley Barnett and husband Bobby; great -great niece and nephews, Michael, Matthew and Haylee Barnett; great nephew, Jackson Bowers; adopted family Charles, Janina and Harrison Solomon of Dallas and several cousins and many friends.

Memorial services are scheduled for 3PM Sunday, October 14, 2018 at St. Paul Episcopal Church, 624 Ovilla Rd., Waxahachie, 75167 with inurnment and reception to follow.
