Trucks of all vintages will take over Getzendaner Park this Saturday for the annual C10’s in the Park. The event showcases unique rides from across the country connecting enthusiasts with builders.

Organizer Terry Hill stated this event continues to grow each year and looks forward to this year's gathering.

“We have got more than 850 trucks already registered that are coming to take part. This is our fourth year to do it, and it has really exploded,” Hill said. “We are the largest C10 truck gathering in the country right now. It is kind of crazy.”

While truck registration has closed, it is still free and open to the public to attend. The event will run from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the park, weather permitting. The trucks on display will range from stock vehicles to ones that have been customized to fit the personality of its owner. General Motor’s models on display will be from 1947-1987.

More than 30 vendors on display with products a mechanic might need for their next build or restoration. In the event of rain, the show will be moved over to the parking lot at Coleman Junior High School at 1000 N. U.S. Highway 77.

“People are coming from all the way from Arizona to Washington and New Jersey. It is crazy,” Hill said. “Every hotel in town is sold out, and it is a huge deal.”

In the evening, the event will move to downtown Waxahachie for a "Party on the Square" with a concert from 6:30-10 p.m. Country recording artist Jason Cassidy will perform at the free event. Cassidy is known for such songs as “Cover Your Eyes,” “Ride of Your Life” and “Blame It on Waylon.”

The Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce will set up a beer garden in downtown during the concert. The Party on the Square portion of the event will happen rain or shine. Around the stage and the square, there will be trucks on display.

“One of the perks that we get is at the downtown part of the event our sponsor will select the top 50, which will get the preferred parking in front and on the sides of the stage,” Hill said. “Everyone is invited.”
