To celebrate the opening of The Abbey Estate, distinguished guests and business partners indulged in hors-d'oeuvres and watched a mock wedding.

The co-owners and husbands, Billy Smith and David Haass, invited the public to an open house on Aug. 29 to display the full functionality of the home and barn. Visitors experienced a full-on wedding, catered food and live music on the 17-acre property.

Smith stood on the new pergola Chapel to greet his company and thanked the preferred vendors that helped The Abbey Estate get started.

"Realize when you schedule an event where you already have some preferred vendors, but you can bring anybody that you want. We want this to be great for you. These preferred vendors stepped up to the plate when nobody knew us," Smith explained.

Nashville country artist, Baylor Wilson, played that evening before the already married couple said, “I do” — again.

"This mock wedding is really not about what I'm saying on stage as much as it is the walk-in, which is what girls love," Smith said. "'How far do I get to walk in that dress down the aisle?'"

The main house will host cocktail parties downstairs, while a bridal party preparation space can be found upstairs. There is also a rustic barn for the groom's party to prepare, a beautiful outdoor gazebo and a new outdoor pergola chapel, which doubles as a band stage. Smith elaborated on the 17-acre property, which consists of a seven-acre parking lot, three-acre event area and a dry creek Smith and Haass planned to build a home on.

The entire venue plans to accommodate a maximum of 400 guests, all at one set price.
