Two weeks into the college volleyball season and Taylor Stoops has already secured her second setter-of-the-week honor.

Stoops was named the Heartland Setter of the Week for the second consecutive week on Monday.

The 2018 Waxahachie graduate and University of Arkansas - Fort Smith freshman joined Debra Rogers (UAFS) and Kelsie French, who were named offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively.

Stoops collected 149 assists (8.76 per set) over five matches last week and helped the Lady Lions to a 3-2 mark against Arkansas-Monticello, Western New Mexico, Adams State, No. 18 Tarleton State and Dixie State. The last four matches came in the Desert Garden Inn by Wyndham Volleyball Classic hosted by Dixie State in St. George Utah.

She set a career-high with 46 assists during a five-set loss to nationally-ranked Tarleton State on Saturday afternoon. Later that evening, Stoops followed the performance with 45 assists in four sets against host Dixie State.

She added nine kills, six aces, three block assists and 33 digs to her stat line over the week.

UAFS (6-3) will compete in the Newman Jets Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Fugate Gymnasium in Wichita, Kan.

The Lady Lions will play No. 25 Missouri Western at 10 a.m. and No. 10 Central Missouri at 4 p.m. on Friday and will play Ouachita Baptist at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
