Pearl Elizabeth Choate, 69, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada, after a short illness.
Pearl lived a full life surrounded by many who loved her. On March 24, 1949, she was born to Ebin and Earnestine Mathis in Waxahachie, Texas, where she was raised with her two older sisters and big brother. After Pearl graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1967, she worked several jobs, but her greatest passion was her love for children. Over the years, she watched and cared for many youngsters who will remember her sweet and funny personality. In addition to babysitting, she enjoyed sewing and cooking, and will surely be remembered for her delectable German chocolate cake which she’d often donate for church gatherings. Pearl’s kind soul will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Pearl joins those in Heaven who have left before her: Ebin and Earnestine Mathis, her parents; Serena Choate, her sister; Bo Choate, her husband; and Kelley Aguilar, her niece.
She will always be remembered by Carl Holcomb of Las Vegas, Nevada; her sister, Sharon Lynch of Waxahachie, Texas; her brother, Larry Mathis of Waxahachie, Texas; nephews, Randy Lynch of Lorena, Texas; Danny Lynch of Ft. Worth, Texas; Andy Aguilar of Waxahachie, Texas; great-nephews, Jacob Aguilar, Braxton Lynch, Randy Lynch, Zane Lynch; and great-niece, Tuesdee Lambrecht. She also leaves behind her special friend, Sharon Lewis, and numerous loving relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Pearl will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 14th, at the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church in Waxahachie, Texas. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the church at Ferris Heights United Methodist Church, 108 Center Street, Waxahachie, Texas, 75165.
