No injuries were reported from a structure fire that broke out Friday morning.

First responders were dispatched at about 9:45 a.m. to the 900 block of Wyatt Street.

Don Alexander, Waxahachie Fire Department Battalion Chief, stated when the crew arrived on scene they found a home fully involved in fire. A search of the house found no occupants inside.

“Two rooms are heavily damaged from the fire. The rest of the house suffered smoke damage,” Alexander said. “The main body of fire was in one of the middle rooms that were heavily damaged.”

Alexander stated the fire spread to the rear of the home and went outside. It didn’t spread to the attic because of the shiplap wall construction. Crews were able to contain the fire within 10 minutes of their arrival at the scene.

Alexander stated construction work was being done on the residence.

Members of the Red Oak Fire Department filled in at station three and answered incoming emergency calls. Ovilla firefighters provided rehab assistance at the scene.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. It is under investigation by Fire Marshal Dennis Crecelius.
