Red Oak Police arrested John Arthur Francis, 38, in connection with allegations of indecency with a child on June 7.

Francis allegedly exposed himself to a child that he was babysitting in his home.

According to the probable cause affidavit, police received information about the offense on June 5. Red Oak Police Sgt. Gary Dollar wrote Red Oak Police officers made contact with the resident, who stated she left her daughter in the care of Francis at 7:40 a.m. She considered Francis a family friend of many years. The affidavit notes this was the first time he watched the victim.

Dollar wrote that, upon returning from work, the resident picked up her daughter. She then made an outcry at their apartment.

The victim testified during a forensic interview that Francis had touched her inappropriately and exposed himself. The interview was held June 6 at the Dallas Child Advocacy Center.

Francis was booked into the Red Oak Jail on the charge of indecency with a child sexual contact, which is a second-degree felony. He was booked in at 3:20 a.m. on June 9 at the Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Waxahachie. Francis remains in custody with a bond totaling $50,000.

According to Francis’ Facebook page, he is a 1996 graduate of Red Oak High School and was previously a coach for a youth girls' soccer team called the Red Oak Cherry Bombs.
