Charles Henry Lyon of Waxahachie, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 6, 1929 in Boz, Texas.

Charles attended school in Forreston and graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1945. He married Mary Catherine Lewis on October 27, 1949 and attended North Texas State University and the University of Texas in Arlington. Charles served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany from 1952-1954. He was employed by LTV/Chance Vought for 38 years as a Procurement/Purchasing Manager and retired to enjoy his love of farming and ranching. Charles served on the Rocket Water Board and served as President of the Board of the Ellis County Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a long term member of the First Baptist Church of Waxahachie and the Downtown Men’s Bible Class. He was a Master Mason of the Waxahachie Masonic Lodge #90 for 60 years and a lifetime member of the National Association of Procurement Management.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Catherine Lyon; his 3 beloved children, Jeff Lyon and his wife, Cindy, Jana Woodhouse and her husband, Robert, Lorilyn Worley and her husband, Greg; his 6 grandchildren, Barrett and his wife, Gena, Baylor and his wife, Candice, Bryton and his wife, Rachel, Chase and his wife, Rachel, Caitlyn and her husband, Alan and Cory and his fiancé, Madison; he is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rube and Eula Lyon; also by his sister, Dorothy Forbes.

Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2018 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
