Last month, Waxahachie Police and Fire Departments competed in a wing eating contest for the sake of the children. From their devouring efforts and a raffle at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Waxahachie, a significant amount of money will benefit Boys and Girls Clubs in Texas.

The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Clubs of Texas received a total of $1,129.53 on behalf of The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Waxahachie from the event.

Buffalo Wild Wings aims to bring sports and team opportunities to the local youth and teens. This donation will help fund uniforms, sports equipment and instruction to give more kids the chance to participate in organized teams.

The wing-eating contest took place on April 18. If interested in donating to The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Waxahachie, call 972-937-7727 or email Lt. Robert Coriston at Robert.Coriston@uss.salvationarmy.org.
