Dora Rivera “Granny” Luna, 71, of Red Oak, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at her home. She was born August 10, 1946 in Mission, Texas to Geronimo Rivera and Juanita Sandoval. She loved to cook and sew, and she loved to gamble and never met a slot machine she didn’t like. Dora was a devout Christian and a God-fearing woman who was always willing to help someone in need and never met a stranger. She was a very loving and patient Mom who followed God and led by example all her life. She tried to instill that in her children. Dora will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her children, Jesus Luna of Dallas, Roxanna Haddock and husband Kerry of Mesquite, Ricardo Luna Sr. and wife Jennifer of Dallas, Roberto Luna and wife Marissa of Royce City and Ruby Gutierriez of Red Oak; grandchildren, Jessy Taylor Luna, Ashley Ramos, Kerry Haddock, Ricardo Luna, Jr., Aurelia Lena Luna, Javier Luna, Mireya Mendoza, Alicia Luna and Sofia Luna and two great grandchildren; one brother, Ricardo Rivera and wife Elsa; two sisters, Irene Ortiz and husband Manuel and Irma Ortiz and husband Rene and numerous nieces and nephews. Dora was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Gloria Garcia; brother, Geronimo Rivera, Jr. and granddaughter, Maryann Dora Luna.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, May 10, 2018 with a 7PM Rosary in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday, May 11, 2018 in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas.
