To the Editor,

My name is Curtis Polk, retired Justice of the Peace and staff member at Graham Street Church of Christ. I would like to express my support for John Rodgers as a Waxahachie ISD Trustee. Until my recent retirement, I myself was a public servant since 1981. In the short time I have known John, he has demonstrated to me what it takes to go above and beyond the call of duty. As an example, John and his crew with the Fire Department responded to an emergency at my church where a parishioner accidently drove their vehicle through an exterior wall and into the main sanctuary. After making sure everything was stable, John approached me and the leaders of our church and volunteered to help secure our building. He and his crew returned with equipment and supplies and fully patched up the exterior wall. They spent hours in the cold making sure our church did not sustain any more damage from the elements. The repair work they did lasted months until the building could be fully restored. John has since visited our church and our members to make sure we were okay and back on our feet.

I am confident John will show the same quality of servantship to the School District. John is a leader in his job and will be an asset as a School Board Trustee. John treats all people with respect and will make great decisions for the entire community.

Please join me in voting for John Rodgers for WISD Trustee.
