The Maypearl Panthers received a one-hit complete-game shutout from Luis Dermas in a 5-0 win Friday night against the Rio Vista Eagles.

Dermas needed 90 pitches to pick up the win. He struck out 12 Eagles and walked three. The lone Rio Vista hit was a fifth-inning single.

Zach Doyle went 2-for-4 at the plate with a pair of walks, run scored and run batted in. Chris Gloria (1-for-2) with two RBIs.

Chase Reeher (1-for-4, 2B) plated the other Maypearl run.

Rio Vista used four pitchers in the loss.

Maypearl returned to action Saturday afternoon in a 13-1 loss on the road against Palmer. Reeher recorded two hits and Kenneth McGinn added one.

The Panthers are now 8-3-2 on the season and return to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday at home against Grandview.
