Big offensive games from Swahn Gibson and Evan Marshall carried the Midlothian Panthers passed Woodrow Wilson and into round three of the 5A boys' basketball playoffs.

Gipson scored a game-high 16 points and Marshall poured in 15 more Friday night in the 48-39 5A Region II area championship win.

Caleb Jordan added nine points, Kaden Archie had three, and Zeke' Bennett and Nyk Madison both scored two points.

Archie was hospitalized after collapsing during the fourth quarter. A little after midnight, Archie tweeted, "Thank you to everyone who was praying for me and checked on me. I left the hospital tonight on my feet, and I am fine!"

The victory moved No. 9 (25-10) Midlothian into a regional quarterfinal showdown against No. 3 (29-6) Mansfield Timberview. The Panthers fell to the Wolves in their two District 10-5A matchups this season.

Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the College Park Center on the campus of The University of Texas at Arlington. The game follows No. 1 Waxahachie versus No. 11 Lancaster.

The winner of Midlothian-Timberview advances to face the winner of Prosper and Sulphur Springs in the 5A Region II tournament to be held Friday and Saturday at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.
