The Red Oak ISD Education Foundation awarded $4,995 to the ROISD elementary fine arts teachers to bring artist Mark Kistler to each elementary campus to hold drawing assemblies during the month of December.
Mark Kistler inspires students to “Dream It! Draw It! Do It” through his assembly programs.
Students bring pencil and paper and draw along with Mark. There were two 60-minute assemblies, one for grades 3-5 and one for grades K-2 at each elementary campus.
Kistler “believes that learning how to draw in 3D builds a child’s critical thinking skills while nourishing self-esteem.” Kistler has presented over 7,000 school assembly programs. Through his teaching, students are inspired to create and he believes that everyone can successfully learn to draw.
