ENNIS — Tuesday was a good night to be a Lady Indian on the basketball court. Waxahachie swept host Ennis across the varsity, junior varsity, and freshman levels.

The varsity squad shot 9-of-18 at the charity stripe against the Lady Lions and needed every single one of them in a 67-66 win. It was Sarah Bush who knocked down 3-of-4 in the fourth quarter that was the difference maker, too. The senior hit her final two with just seconds to play to seal the win.

Diamond Atchison and Cassidy Morgan led the way with 16 points and Bush chipped in 15. Atchison drained a team-high four three-pointers.

Mya Williams added 10 points, Rayna Ross had seven and Jordan McGee finished with three.

The win moved the Lady Indians to 10-4 on the season. They will now shift focus to District 10-5A action.

Behind 17 points from McGruder, the junior varsity Lady Indians carried an eight-point lead into the halftime locker room and never looked back, defeating Ennis 47-33. McGruder scored eight of her game-high 17 points in the fourth quarter.

Waxahachie also saw contributions from Whitehead (13), Becerra (6), Crenshaw (4), Marquez (3), Wakefield (2) and Vasquez (2).

The freshmen Lady Indians also picked up a close victory against the Lady Lions, holding on to a 30-25 win.
