A 33-year-old Waxahachie man died as the result of a fatal gunshot wound, say Waxahachie Police investigators.
Police are asking those with any information in connection with the murder of Clifton Jackson III, 33, of Waxahachie, to come forward.
Officers were dispatched Sunday, Dec. 10 at 4:53 p.m. to the 100 block of Frierson Street after Jackson was found dead by his fiancé.
“Officers arrived to find the resident of the home dead of an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was found by his fiancé after she’d arrived at the home to check in on him,” Waxahachie Police Lt. Todd Woodruff said. “She made entry when she couldn’t raise him on the phone. The deceased man is identified as Clifton Jackson III, 33, of Waxahachie.”
Woodruff stated that detectives believe that it is likely someone heard or saw something Sunday afternoon. The Waxahachie Police-led investigation is ongoing at this time.
"Detectives are working today doing interviews and going over reports and statements," Woodruff said. "We believe the suspect is someone that knew Mr. Jackson. We ask that anyone who heard gunfire, saw any vehicles or anyone arriving at or leaving the Victim’s home over the weekend to contact detectives."
