For those looking to ring in the season with a traditional and feel-good production, the Ellis Country Children's Theater is producing Mr. Scrooge's Christmas — adapted from "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens.

Though dead for seven years, Jacob Marley returns to reform his former partner, Ebenezer Scrooge. The miserly Scrooge frowns at carolers, chases away charity collectors, and makes life miserable for his clerk, Bob Cratchit. But Marley appears to Scrooge on Christmas Eve and sends three spirits: Christmas Past, Present, and Future.

Each spirit reveals a different aspect of Christmas, and in the end, old Scrooge is changed and celebrates Christmas dinner with the Cratchit family. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 15—16 at 7 p.m. The production is held at First United Methodist Church, located at 505 West Marvin in Waxahachie. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
