Janelle Margarite Blume was born May 5, 1926, in Kansas City, MO to Arthur Schmidt and Lenore Thorpe Schmidt. She departed this life September 23, 2017, in Ennis. Janelle was an excellent seamstress and loved quilting and oil painting. She taught herself to play the dulcimer. She was very involved in her church, taught Sunday School, K Ladies and was a past president of the altar society. She married Victor Blume in 1948 in Kansas City, and they came to Waxahachie in 1955. Janelle was a loving wife and mother. Over the years she worked for Hallmark, Deeya Cosmetics, and Saybrook Fabrics.
Janelle is survived by her daughter Pat Blume, sister Joan Nikolai of California, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Victor Blume, son Clifford Blume and daughter Baby Linda.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Ennis Care Center, Family First Hospice and her roommate Linda Bloodworth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Alzheimers Association or to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, October 2, 2017, from 6 - 8 P. M., with Rosary, recited at 7 P. M. Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at 10 A. M. Burial at Hillcrest Burial Park in Waxahachie will follow.
