WAXAHACHIE — The Hometown Christmas Craft Show will be hosted at the Waxahachie Civic Center Saturday, Nov. 4, just in time to purchase gifts before the holidays.

Christine Busby, the event coordinator, said more than 40 local vendors have registered for booths at the holiday-themed event.

“It’s going to be a craft show. It’s people who live in the surrounding area that make their own merchandise, who want a place to set up and sell it,” Busby said. “We’ll have everything there from people who make chocolate to people who make pillows, that make clothes and jewelry. You name it. They’re going to be there as well as all of your favorite direct sales.”

Customers can expect handmade glassware, pottery, knitting, crochet, embroidery, jewelry, woodwork, bath and beauty, food, paper goods, toys, furniture, art as well as some direct sales from Mary Kay, Scentsy, Lularoe, Lipsense and more.

“Sometimes direct sales can be very scarce. This way you get a chance to come out here meet all of our wonderful direct sales. You get to see them. You get to meet them. You get to smell your merchandise, try it on before you purchase,” Busby said.

Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at the door, while children 12 years and under are free. The event lasts from 9 a.m. — 4 p.m.

After the admission ticket is collected, a raffle ticket will be handed out. All registered vendors are donating one item each with a $10 minimum value for the drawings. Busby said a raffle would be announced about every 30 minutes.

Busby also mentioned that “Anytime C I Events and Production does an event, whenever we take money up at the door, we give part of the proceeds to a local organization.”

C I Events and Production hasn’t identified a specific organization yet, but “We will find a good organization in Waxahachie and we will donate part of the proceeds to them,” Busby said.
