The “Fantastic Teeth Fan Club” program is sponsored by the Texas Masonic Home and School in Arlington. They provide 300 kits for first graders district-wide, and the Waxahachie Masonic Lodge #90 provided the additional kits needed for Waxahachie ISD first graders through a donation from a lodge member.
Several of the lodge officers worked to assemble, sort, and distribute the kits to all seven WISD elementary campuses, more than 600 first graders in all. The kits contained toothbrushes, toothpaste, timers, and information about healthy teeth and oral hygiene.
The Waxahachie Masonic Lodge has presented scholarships to two WISD seniors for over 25 years, with the past several years’ scholarship amounts being $2,000 each. The lodge has blood drives to support the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, and also help with the annual International House of Pancakes fundraiser for the Shriners Hospitals. This year, they have increased their community involvement by partnering with Waxahachie CARE and the WISD Adopt-a-Class program. The Masonic fraternity is the oldest fraternity in the world and Waxahachie Lodge No. 90 is the second oldest organization in Waxahachie, being chartered in 1852.
