WAXAHACHIE — The 2017 Waxahachie High School Homecoming celebrations begin Monday, Oct. 9 and conclude Saturday afternoon with a luncheon hosted by the WHS Ex-Students association.

The annual parade is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. Route details will be featured in the Friday Daily Light. The Indian football team will then host the Midlothian Panthers at 7:30 p.m. There are several tailgating sites for alumni and fans prior to the game.

The Legacy Run, which consists of a fun run and 5K, is scheduled for Saturday morning, Oct. 14. More information on the run will be provided in Wednesday's Daily Light.

WHS Athletic Hall of Fame

The 2017 WHS Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Scholarship Program will be held on Thursday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the WHS Fine Arts Center. This year's inductees include L.T. Felty, Jimmie Ray, Mike Turner and Tirey Wilemon, Sr. Admission is free with open seating. Sponsors, inductees and their families will have reserved seating. WHS Ex-Students Association Homecoming Luncheon

The WHS Ex-Students Association annual Homecoming Luncheon will be held on Saturday, October 14 at 11:30 a.m. at the Ninth Grade Academy. Tickets to the event are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Waxahachie High School Class of 1967 50-year Reunion

The 1967 graduating class of Waxahachie High School will be holding their 50-year class reunion, Oct. 13-14. On Friday, we will participate in the homecoming parade in the afternoon, attend the WHS homecoming football game, and then get together at the Red Oak Valley Golf Club. On Saturday after attending the Ex-Students Association luncheon, the class will meet at the old high school for a tour and a class picture. Activities will continue with a catered dinner and program at the Youth Center on Patrick Street at 6 p.m. (for 1967 graduates), followed by plenty of time to reminisce and listen to 1960’s music with fellow class members and friends.
