WAXAHACHIE — An Ellis County Grand Jury indicted a DeSoto resident on the charge of aggravated robbery on June 28. DeSoto police arrested Dekylon Deion Jones, 19, on a warrant on Jan. 5.

According to the indictment, Jones allegedly threatened the victim with the fear of imminent bodily injury or death by exhibiting a firearm while committing the offense of theft of property in the 7000 block of Edgerton Road in Midlothian.

Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Joe Fitzgerald said Jones and a 16-year-old female entered the home of the victim through the front door at about 7 p.m. on Dec. 22, 2016.

“The homeowner reported that a male and a female had come into his house and brandished a handgun and took a laptop computer and a cell phone. Through the investigation and through evidence collected at the scene we were able to track down Dekylon and the juvenile,” Fitzgerald said. “They were both apprehended and they were both arrested. Dekylon was brought here to the Ellis County Jail where he was arraigned. She was taken over to juvenile and given over to juvenile services.”

Fitzgerald said the homeowner’s 17-year-old son was the only person at home at the time of the offense and was not injured. He added that the juvenile’s case has concluded with her pleading out.

According to records from the Ellis County District Clerk's Office, Jones was given a $40,000 bond on Jan. 28. Records from the Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Waxahachie no longer list Jones as an inmate on its website.
