Memorial services for Henny Betty Pedersen Timmerman, of Corrigan, TX, will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Assembly of God Church of Corrigan, TX. Mrs. Timmerman was born July 10, 1923, in Sande i Vestfold, Norway, to parents Henry Olaf Pedersen and Betty Marie Kristofersen Pedersen and she passed away on March 26, 2017, in Red Oak, TX. After working as a nurse during World War II, Henny moved to America in 1949. She relocated from Brooklyn, NY, to Minneapolis, MN, where she attended North Central Bible College and met her husband, Arnold Timmerman. They married in August of 1952.
Henny stayed home for 20 years, raising six children and caring for 17 foster children.
In October of 1972, Arnold and Henny Timmerman moved their family to Waxahachie, TX, where Henny served at Southwestern Assemblies of God College in the food service department for the next 13 years. In 1985, feeling a call to serve in missions, Henny and her husband moved to a German Mennonite community in Mexico where they served for four years.
Upon their return to America, Arnold and Henny moved to Corrigan, TX. They spent many years serving nursing home residents through love and spiritual support. Henny lived a life of loving and serving others, and she will be greatly missed.
Henny was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Timmerman, her sisters Astrid Engh and Ester Hartford, her brother Harry Pedersen, son-in-law Thomas Zachary, and grandson Jeremy Timmerman. She is survived by her sister Sofie Flagan, six children and their spouses: David and Suzie Timmerman, Robert and Rebekah Bowman, Nathan and Cindy Timmerman, Phil and Rachel Corbett, Daniel and T-Kay Timmerman, Jonathan and Ruthie Burke, 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.
