WAXAHACHIE — Police are investigating the deaths of two residents that were found inside their home on Friday morning. Waxahachie Police officers were initially dispatched at 10:55 a.m. to the 500 block of Cynisca St. for a welfare check.

“The male’s employer called police when he failed to show up for work. Officers arrived and were able to gain entry into the residence through a window,” Waxahachie Police Lt. Todd Woodruff said. “ Officers found the 30-year-old male resident and the 28-year-old female resident deceased inside the home. There were no outward signs of trauma to the couple.”

Woodruff said the bodies were sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy. While the investigation is still in its early stages, the initial appearances are that it may be a double-suicide. Woodruff also noted that the full toxicology report could take several weeks. The incident remains under investigation by the Waxahachie Police Department and more information will be released as it becomes available.
