Rebecca Gutierrez, age 73, of Italy, passed away early Thursday morning, December 22, 2016. She was born February 16, 1943 in Files Valley, Texas to Pedro Cadena and Rebecca Vargas. Rebecca was a longtime resident of Italy and longtime member of the Epiphany Mission where she sang in the choir. She loved reading her bible and praying the Rosary, playing Mexican bingo, making tamales and hot sauce and having get-togethers and cookouts.

Rebecca loved her children and grandchildren, they were her world, and she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her children, Pat Tovar and husband Jesse, Suzanne Jackson and husband Gary, Samuel Gutierrez and wife Suzanne, Albert Gutierrez and wife Patsy, Pete Gutierrez and wife Kathleen and Olga Gutierrez and Jim Sharp; grandchildren, Tessa, Jesse Jr., Eugene, Gary II, Alix, Bubba, Ashley, Garrick, Giani, Caleb, Destiny and Christian; great grandchildren, Mikey, Catie, Evie, Frankie, Arianna, Rhyder and Jayden; one brother, Pete Cadena; two sisters, Lucy Chavarria and Lupe Valderes. Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lucio Gutierrez and one son, Frankie Gutierrez.

Visitation for family and friends will be 4PM to 8PM with a 7PM Rosary Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Epiphany Mission with Father Antonio Ormaza celebrant. Interment will follow in the Italy Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Tovar, Jr., Eugene Tovar, Mike South, Garrick Gutierrez and Jim Sharp.
