Ralph Hayes, 92, of Waxahachie departed this life Wednesday, November 30, 2016. He was born in Bardwell August 16, 1924 to Raymond Hayes and Laura May Gray Hayes. Ralph graduated high school at age 15 and began college at 16 at Hill Junior College. While there he drove a bus between Hillsboro and Corsicana. Ralph later attended SMU and majored in business administration. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Dallas after 20 years and then retired from General Motors after 24 years of service. Ralph loved all sports, especially the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys, and he coached his son Michael’s Little League Optimist team. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Waxahachie and a member of the Men’s Downtown Bible Class for many years. Ralph was also a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Waxahachie Masonic Lodge #90. He loved eating at Cancun’s and enjoyed working in his garden.

Ralph leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 70 years, Billie, children Linda Hughes, Michael Hayes and wife Penny, Chris Hayes and partner Tom Cawley; grandchildren Jack Hughes and wife Cami, John Hughes and wife Hollye, Somer Hayes and husband Ryan and Meagan Kamerbeek and husband Jason; great grand-children Madison, Alex, Wesey, Eli, Ian, Miles, Sam, Merritt and Will; his beloved dogs Dolly and Peanut and cats Buddy and Wally.

Visitation for family and friends will be 1PM Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Waxahachie with a celebration of life service to follow at 2PM.
