WAXAHACHIE — The Waxahachie Symphony Association announced that applications are now available for the 2016-2017 Belles and Beaus program. Applications are available at waxahachiesymphony.org.

Designed for Ellis County juniors and seniors, the Belles and Beaus program raises students' awareness of the symphony and provides them with an education in music appreciation, life skills, and etiquette.

Belles and Beaus receive training by area experts in life skills seminars on money management, college applications, interviewing, manners, correspondence, and proper dress attire. Participants support the Symphony by ushering at concerts, representing them in the Waxahachie holiday parade, and performing community service.

At the conclusion of the season, Belles and Beaus are honored at a formal gala, which includes dinner, dancing and their presentation.

The Belles and Beaus program begins in September and concludes the following May. The group typically meets once a month. Most seminars and volunteer opportunities are held on the weekend or in the evening. Tuition for the program is #350.

An informational meeting is scheduled for Sunday, August 28, from 3-4 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church, 402 North College Street. Applications for the 2016-2017 season are available at waxahachiesymphony.org. Space is limited and early applications are encouraged and welcomed.
